The solar panel is a great low maintenance solution for outdoor camera installations in hard to reach areas. The solar panel charges the battery but it can t power the camera if no battery is inserted. Make sure that your camera s battery is fully charged when you connect the solar panel to your camera. I thought the issues were with firmware but it seems that there is a hardware issue that allows the solar panels to drain the batteries.
